Balcony Shower Room

The floor of the shower cabinet is sunk into the floor and has a clear, curved, sliding door. The Italian Teuco shower cabin also functions as a steam sauna with two seats. Four blends of aromatic and medicinal herbs are available as optional extras at £2 each and Teuco describe them as “refreshing, stimulating, relaxing and toning”.

Select between normal, energy, relax and massage for the overhead shower, and the same choice applies to the spray from the height-adjustable shower on a rail. There are another nine multidirectional jets in the walls of the cabin, which can provide vertical massage.
The controls are mainly, but not exclusively, electronic, and can be programmed in advance. Tony is our reference point here and when he has a shower he listens to Radio 4, but you can tune into Classics, or any other programme, if you wish.

The white wall hung toilet and hand basin are set into maple cupboards, which are topped by a granite shelf. This window faces west, so the sun streams in during the evenings before it sets over the Fenland farms across the river Witham.

Glass shelves for guests’ own toiletries are hidden behind the mirrored door. In addition to the heated towel rail, there is a thermostatically controlled fan heater.
